Busy Like A Bee

I've been busy.... veerrrryyyy busy!

Actually, I have tons of things to write but since I was so tied up with work, cake orders, house chores, the kids, yadda...yadda...yadda.... all the juicy stuff that I wanted to write evaporate into the air, though I tried hard to seal them inside my almost-filled-up brain - which can holds less than 100KB of information per day, and it's deteriorating each day, mind you! Gosh... I'm so old! Aaahhhh! While we are on this topic, the other day I was looking at the mirror in my room and I saw an image of a middle aged woman and she looked oh!-so-old!!!!! Oh no!!!! Was that really me? Yeah, I know I'm having a mid-life crisis of some sort but couldn't be thhhaaatttt old!!????? Quickly I asked Nik (via SMS laaa.... hehehe. He's still in Jakarta) if I do look old and he said probably because I smile less these days (that means he agreed that I look older than my age????) Hhmmm....why ah? Not sure myself lah! (And I didn't know that I smile a lot those days... hehe). OK... OK...don't panic! Tomorrow I'll go and find some good ulam at the market in Sect 6 for 'awet muda' (hahaha......!!!). Maybe will stop drinking cold/iced water and switch to warm water instead. They said it's good for your health and perhaps make you look younger!? Enough said about my ever-lasting-age-crisis.

Ops! Sorry... I went off-tangent, blabing about me...... Now, back to what I wanted to write... well, I forgot! Shheeesshhhh!

But I remember I was so busy with my cakes. Lots of orders came in last week, probably because of the Hari Raya mood....a lot of people are still hunger for Raya cookies and cakes.

One of my customers ordered a huge birthday cake.... it's chocolate moist cake, layered with melted chocolate, semi-covered with delicious home-made butter cream icing (the cake is not ready yet la)

Haaaaa..... this is the end product! How's that?

And I made some mini peach tarts, too. Look at 'em! Yummmyyy!!!!
As I'm writing this, I'm waiting for my Oreo and Lemon cheesecake in the oven and they need to be ready by 7am tomorrow. How I love baking!!! ...and sometimes cooking (only selected food).

Last week Naqeeb was down with chicken pox. Poor him. He was moody all throughout the week... I didn't allow him to go out so he stayed inside the house for one & a half week.
...meanwhile, Nasreen was 'partying' at a friend's birthday party...
That's her (in red blouse) with Ina's sons and Sha's daughters.
Ina and Sha are my old time friends. We met at Emma's house (Emma is also my ex-school mate, some 20 years ago). Leilanie (also my ex-classmate in highschool) was also there together with her family. All of us....we've known each other since we were .... hmm...10 or 12 years old, maybe! Can't really remember. The journey is too long to walk down the memory lane.... plus... due to my limited data storage! Well, people say friends are for life!
And oh! I met Ina for lunch today. I enjoy a 2-hr break every Friday so we planned to meet up at my fav. place...IKANO, or to be exact, at IKEA restaurant... Ina had a plate of spaghetti and some swedish dessert. I had grilled chicken and some spring rolls. We ate and talked and ate and talked. She finished my spring roll and I finished her dessert...and walked around... and talked... until 2.20pm. Hehehe.....Mom's day out! I went back to my office...feeling so FULL and SLEEPY.
OK....what are my plans tomorrow? I dread weekends since Nik left for Jakarta. I don't know what to do. Taking the kids out will mean increasing my blood pressure.... I bet you know how it's like going around with 2 kids in tow screaming and making faces at each other....
Probably these are what I'll do tomorrow:
  1. To change some RM to Rupiah....... what for!? That one I will write about it later.
  2. Open up a savings account (either with CTBank or HSBC)... that's for Nik's usage in Jakarta.
  3. Look for some good socks for the kids.
  4. Have a hair cut.

What else....? I thought I told Ina I have dozens of things on my list for tomorrow.... Maybe I'll remember them when I wake up tomorrow morning....

Till then..... have a blast weekend!

Zura,

Feeling good about myself and wearing a smile on my face make me feel young.

Also, the choice of cloths I wear now (as compared to 3 years ago) has changed because I had decided to "feel" young, vibrant and energetic. Of course, (I hope) I do not look like a mid-life crisis woman trying to relive her life as a teenager.... But at least, I put an attempt to remain to be in my twenties....

P/s :
The skin on my breast and hands worries me..... hee hee
(so, kenalah sapu cream lebih sikit).

P/p/s :
And yes, we can never defy gravity!

P/p/p/s:
Live life to the fullest, and celebrate our age....
.......as we age.
:)

Zura & Ina,
kita sama-samalah share tips. Make it like a knowledge bank, gitu.
Nak tak? We can create another blog, and Zura, Ina and I can be the authors to the blog. Whenever kita a tip to add, regardless modern or traditional, then, we post it. Nak tak?

Tip for today :
Always go to sleep smelling sweet like "heaven". I have a perfume specially for night use. Yelah, if we can spray to smell seductive in the day; then, we must also smell heavenly at night when we cuddle up to sleep with our husbands.

To Be or Not To Be

Deadlines were over…. Yesterday was my last day here…. And today marks a whole new beginning of my career life here….. I could be wrong or I could be right for making this decision… but I’ve made up my mind to take up the challenges, nonetheless. I know I’m subjecting myself to a lot of hardwork as well as criticism, scrutiny and observation from the rest……. and time definitely has to be compromised. But being a risk taker…. I am, I know I just have to pull myself together and face the obstacles - one at a time. It’s too late to undo things anyway and the best thing to do is to be positive. Both legs are in and it’s time to march towards the horizon with pride and dignity. Only time can answer the doubts that I have in me now… meanwhile, I need all the luck that I can have.

It was Nik's Birthday

It was my husband’s birthday yesterday and we took the day off to ‘merewang’ while feeling young, kononnya. The theme of the celebration? Reminiscing the days when we were courting back in 1993 minus the snow.... ancient sungguh rasanya! We had our breakfast at O’Brien’s early in the morning and took a slow stroll along the shops in OU and enjoyed every minute of it (at 10am in the morning, mind you, and the shops were barely opened). Later we watched ‘Lake House’ and we were charged RM12 only for 2 tickets (the early bird tickets were so damn cheap, I almost fainted!). There were only a few couples inside and we took the opportunity to sit right at the middle (ikut suka hati), since the theater was quite empty. How was the movie? Hmm… ok la, I would say it was the right movie for the occasion… hehe. A bit slow though, biasa la, romantic piece. The ending part was quite ‘touchy’ and yes, Mr Reeves was so stunningly handsome (oh yes, nampak tua sikit la and still got the looks).

Antara Anyir & Jakarta

I’ve been making regular monthly trips to KLIA since my husband was posted to Jakarta last year. And yesterday….. again, I made my ‘latest trip’ there to send him off (after the recent trip that I had on 3/3/06 when I picked him up from KLIA to spend his 10 solid-days holiday with me and the kids here in KL). Time sure flew fast when you wished for the earth to stop and let you enjoy your 10 days just a little bit longer. Nevertheless, the ‘most awaited 10-days’ was over…..Nik is now back in Jakarta and I’m now back in my office, sitting in my chair, swiveling around every 10 minutes, gazing lazily at the workload dumped on my desk and trying very hard to find every energy stored in my body just to touch those piles of paper…. argh! But the 10-days period was spent joyfully. We took the weekend off last week for a quickie getaway at Cyberview Lodge Resort & Spa…. and oh boy! the resort is spectacular and the view is breathtakingly-beautiful. Of course, the children were the happies
