I Live My Life For You...

What a Weekend...

We made a trip back to Singapore on Friday …. A few reasons actually. 1. Nik’s nephew, Dr Fathy from KB, wanted to shop for his hantaran stuff 2. At the same time, it was his first time riding long distance and we planned this a few months back when he wasn’t able to join our trip to Tanjung Piai, Johor 3. I wanted to visit my cousins and uncle there 4. We wanted to go somewhere as it was a long weekend Initially I was supposed to ride with them, but changed my mind at the very last minute… so I drove, solo…. With my Mr T while the bikers escorted me…. A few reasons also.. 1. I was not in the mood to sit at the back of the bike for a long 3-hours 2. I wanted to take the kids too .. it’s Syawal anyway, so time to ‘raya’ 3. How on earth are we going to bring the stuff that Fathy wanted to buy if we were to ride there? Well, they were supposed to escort me but I left them on our way there… LOL! I was going at 170… and damn the car was good I didn’t feel the speed. Reache

Big Breakfast for Dinner - Scramble Eggs

I felt like having a  veryyy light dinner yesterday... tho I was back at home a lil' early, i.e. around 6m, as the lab ran by Pemandu concluded earlier than usual. Nothing seemed 'light' in the fridge... so I thought... why not fix a breakfast menu for dinner?  And breakfast menu was all we had yesterday (for dinner) ... hehehe Naqeeb decided to put up at my mom's house, so my menu last night was simple - as Naqeeb prefers rice than anything else.... So I made my special scramble egg.... fluffy, healthy and yummy :)  Let's check out how to do this.... Serving - 2 persons 2 eggs + 2 egg whites (healthy la konon  nya ni...).. but seriously, it tastes better :)  try it if you don't believe me... salt & peppa... to taste 1/4 cup of fresh milk 1 tbsp of mayo Beat all eggs + egg whites, add salt to taste Add mayo and fresh milk, and beat lightly Fry the egg (I used 2 tsp olive oil) and add pepper (if you wish) Make sure you

Sambal Goreng Singapura

It's a week full of open houses... so more food.... and FAT!  hellpppp!! Anyway, this morning I decided to cook Nik's fav dish.... sambal goreng.  It was a brunch because by the time I finished cooking, it was already 11am.... This is my mom's special dish.  I hardly find it here but in Singapore, this dish is quite well known.  And my mom's sambal goreng is the best....  She even courier it to the States during Syawal when I was studying there... LOL!  Actually, I made it a few times already, but today, I went blank... didn't even know where to start.... so I gave my mom a call... and here goes... Sambal Goreng Singapore Bahan A 1/2 kg of hati and paru Rebus and potong dadu (about 1/2inch size) - rebus hati for about 10-15 mins but paru however, you will need to boil for about 1.5 - 2 hrs, or you'll be chewing it forever... Then fry (just enough to dry them - about 5 mins of frying) Set aside Bahan B Slice thinly 2 red chillies, 3 shallots and 5

I miss my blog...

Sorry ... I didn't have the time to update my blog.  Ramadhan had been busy for me... baking cookies, preparing food for breaking fast... etc etc It was sad that Ramadhan was over in a blink and 3 more weeks to go before Syawal is over too.... I have done nothing.  Literally.....! Work is catching up on me and deadlines are approaching... Plus I will be on a long leave in mid October.... huhuhuuh!!!  I need extra hours plizzzz....!!!!! Anyway, I would like to wish all my friends, near and far... have a blessed Eid Mubarak!  It's a month of forgiveness and it's a good time to visit our brothers and sisters so those in Shah Alam... give us a ring :D Enjoy your Syawal!  More recipes coming up after I'm done with my papers....
