Do You Know What We Did Last Weekend.. !?

We - as in the SINfully Stooges- were verrryyyy busy last weekend.

3rd project and this time, the number of hampers were more than the projects before.

Meeting point for the 3rd project - my house. Sha and Ina came around noon, and this time, I told them that I was gonna cook for lunch. No more pizzas or KFC... we went local this time... hehehe. Ina brought fruits while Sha brought nasi ayam to add to the menu.

Nasi Ayam Sha, all in plastic container

... to go with my Mee Rebus

While they were warming up for the session, I was busy cooking ... (cooking is my middle name!). I cooked Mee Rebus SK Style and I already baked a cake using my newly arrived bundt pan the night before....

This recipe will be posted in my next entry...
malas nak type lah tonite

Since time was an issue, I told Sha to bring disposable plates and cutleries. Why? So that all would go straight into the dustbin ..... zzaassss... no washing activity because time was short and we had so many things to do....

Stooges @ work... y so serious???

Gold coins for the basket

Anyway, look at the amount of tins and baskets that we were working with. The nuts, the dried fruits, the kuih bangkit..... all for CNY hampers ordered by one customer.

The final product, ready to be delivered
.... and that means.... 'ka-ching' is coming! weeee........!!!

Nicely packed

Since I'm not yet sleepy tonight (I am actually typing while watching SWITCH), let me share with you the Mee Rebus recipe .... (courtesy from Cik Awar) hehehe (with slight amendment to the original recipe) :

For the gravy:
Beef (thinly sliced) - rebus for 15-20 mins till the meat is tender. I need the broth for the gravy. I used about 300-400gm beef

Fry garlic and onion (blend or crush) with oil for 2-3 mins. Add chili paste, if you like the gravy to be a bit spicy.
Add in 2-3 tsp anchovies and 1-2 tbsp dried prawn (both soaked in water for 1 hr and blend till fine).
Fry the mixture for a few more minutes. Add in beef and the broth. Slow cook for 10 mins. Let the mixture boil and add in 4-5 tbsp tomato sauce. Stir and add salt & pepper to taste.

Finally, add in blended sweet potato (I used about 3-4 small potato - throw them into the boiling water for about 20 mins, take out and mash the potato). Stir and allow the gravy to boil slowly.

Voila..... the gravy is now ready to be served with yellow mee.

I am busy, I'm confused!

I have been very quiet this week.. no updates, no hopping around leaving any trail of my existence, probably due to the following reasons: 1. Nasreen will be having her exam next week, so I’m busy reviewing her syllabus (and also nagging to make sure she prepares herself). Yes, instead of her reviewing her books, the responsibility – by default – is shifted to me…. Hmm, mothers nowadays. We feel the pressure more than our kids (and we panic even more while waiting for the results to come out). Hehehe. I can’t remember my mother even touched my textbooks when I was in Primary 3. No wonder we grow old faster these days…. 2. I’m having mood swings this week. One day, I feel elated, then mellow on the next day, moody on the following day. Work is adding on my desk, scope is being expanded, news is floating around and remarks are beings smacked everywhere (manage to steer clear of some and the rest sometimes just landed right on my very lap). Don’t you hate it when you are so positive that ...
Yes, I’ve been blessed with a lot of wonderful people around me….. yes friends, you! Read on…. Yesterday, around 6.15pm, I was in the middle of reviewing something when I was called for a meeting with one of big bosses here…. And I was thinking in anger, ‘Great! It’s 6.30pm and they want to have a meeting. Don’t they have families to run back home to????” So I got up from my chair and ran down to one of the meeting rooms in Level 5. I peeped through the small glass and the room was dark and empty. They were not even they yet! Heck! But when I pushed open the door, suddenly I heard people screaming and laughing and shouting, “Happy Birthday To You!!!!” and everyone was holding a candle in their hand. Gosh! My colleagues planned a Birthday Party for me. No wonder the department was empty when I left and I didn’t even notice. I was speechless! I was asked to blow the candles that they were holding and those on the cake (oh! The cake was so yummylicious!) I was so touched. Everybody was th...

It was Nik's Birthday

It was my husband’s birthday yesterday and we took the day off to ‘merewang’ while feeling young, kononnya. The theme of the celebration? Reminiscing the days when we were courting back in 1993 minus the snow.... ancient sungguh rasanya! We had our breakfast at O’Brien’s early in the morning and took a slow stroll along the shops in OU and enjoyed every minute of it (at 10am in the morning, mind you, and the shops were barely opened). Later we watched ‘Lake House’ and we were charged RM12 only for 2 tickets (the early bird tickets were so damn cheap, I almost fainted!). There were only a few couples inside and we took the opportunity to sit right at the middle (ikut suka hati), since the theater was quite empty. How was the movie? Hmm… ok la, I would say it was the right movie for the occasion… hehe. A bit slow though, biasa la, romantic piece. The ending part was quite ‘touchy’ and yes, Mr Reeves was so stunningly handsome (oh yes, nampak tua sikit la and still got the looks). ...
