I need T.I.M.E

I’ve wanted to write and update my blog for a long long time, but time has never been very kind to me. I always feel like a day consists of less than 24 hours and the official working hours everyday is only 4 hours. Sigh! Anyway, my last get-together with the wonderful-superb-unbelievable- Angels happened like 3 weeks ago and I took ages to blog about it….. finally, I decided not to elaborate so much about the meeting as the rest had already wrote about it & it’s too late for me to say anything now (it’s no longer hot from the oven lah). But I won’t disappoint you…. Check out the different versions of the tales by: Leilanie Kimi Dee Ina It was my first encounter with Kimi and Dee and trust me, they made you feel “at home”…. Hehehe. We talked and laughed like we’ve been friends for so long. They are truly fantastic supermoms (yes, that includes you guys, too, Leilanie & Ina!) And when moms get together, “maid” issues are da-main-topic. Talking about maid, so far I’ve managed to...

Best Employee Award

I was in Bandar Kinrara yesterday morning & I stopped by a newspaper stand to buy, of course, newspapers. There were two stalls along the road, one is manned by a Malay man (probably around his 20’s) and another one is manned by an old Indian man in his 60’s. I didn’t know which one to choose (suddenly it became the hardest decision that I had to make), but thinking that the old man still has to work despite his age to look for ‘rezeki halal’, I finally stopped at his stall. He approached my car & I told him I needed two papers. He went back to his stall & got me the papers. When he came back, one hand was holding the papers & another one was holding something. He handed me the papers & I gave him RM4 in return…. then immediately he handed me my change…. Oh! He had coins in his other hand, which really impressed me.. talking about efficient customer service here. I smiled and took my change, to which he said…. “Thank you… selamat jalan!” .... and waved at me. I mean...

Enough is enough!!

Okay…..what is this?? No other news in the whole wide world for the Press to write about kah? I think enough humiliation one can handle…. with all the ruffled-Cinderella-like-wedding-gown one had been dreaming to wear…. to singing at one’s own wedding (twice, mind you) …. and now… marks on one’s neck after the so-called first night (of course, not applicable to the bridegroom)! Hello!!!! Can we read something else please, now that everything is over??? Oh! There’s more issit ? Yeah, yeah, the honeymoon (which is still a big RAHSIA… like we are dying to know!!) and also ‘da-event' nine months down the road….. if it happens…. (and oh! no direct telecast please....!!!!) My oh my, we do have a long way to go, I must tell you…. Sick eh!

I'll be away...

Friends, I’m leaving tonite. Where? Oh, I’m going here . Wooho!!!!!! That explains why I was so busy for the last few weeks, trying to push everything out of my desk & let the papers land on somebody else’s. Hehehe. Anyway, yes, I’ll be leaving tonight, for a 5-day-all-paid-trip-for-two with Nik and the rest of my office mates. I think there are 10-15 of us (didn’t exactly count the heads) & my company (thank you Mr Boss) is so kind enough to send us for holiday for the time and effort that we have put in for the last one year – kunun nya and also for my lost blogging time, ok!… and they also allow you to bring you spouse nih…. Woo hoo again!!!! ok ok..... nothing much pun, shanghai je kan (jangan la excited sangat cik NAH oi) .... but the word FREE tu yang excites me more! hehehe... free flight, free hotel, free food, free tour..... (exclude shopping la). My eyes almost popped out when I received the recognition letter last month. I slapped and slapped my face & yes, I w...

It was Nik's Birthday

It was my husband’s birthday yesterday and we took the day off to ‘merewang’ while feeling young, kononnya. The theme of the celebration? Reminiscing the days when we were courting back in 1993 minus the snow.... ancient sungguh rasanya! We had our breakfast at O’Brien’s early in the morning and took a slow stroll along the shops in OU and enjoyed every minute of it (at 10am in the morning, mind you, and the shops were barely opened). Later we watched ‘Lake House’ and we were charged RM12 only for 2 tickets (the early bird tickets were so damn cheap, I almost fainted!). There were only a few couples inside and we took the opportunity to sit right at the middle (ikut suka hati), since the theater was quite empty. How was the movie? Hmm… ok la, I would say it was the right movie for the occasion… hehe. A bit slow though, biasa la, romantic piece. The ending part was quite ‘touchy’ and yes, Mr Reeves was so stunningly handsome (oh yes, nampak tua sikit la and still got the looks). ...

Work It, Babeh!

Last Friday I worked so hard burning my calories off . I finally managed to drag my feet to the gym, which is 5 steps away (literally) from my office’s door… And I jogged on Saturday….. and Sunday…… (trying too hard eh!) Then, these were what I had for my S unday lunch…. And add this to my Monday morning breakfast! Tiramisu... yumm ! Need I say more?

Bye Bye Hair

11th July 206 ..... this date marked the history of Nasreen changing her hair style from this… To this…. Blame it all on her momma! She’s been donning her long hair ever since she was small, a baby in fact…. The shortest it gets is only up to her collar, and I would normally let her hair grow long. Only a bit of trimming once in a while… Every morning, I would juggle my time to tie her hair nice nice, or sometimes ‘tocang’ her hair so that it looked neater, sometimes she demanded to ‘ikat dua’ and put some clips here and there, or sometimes ‘ikat setengah sikit sikit’ – whatever that means. You know lah children nowadays, very demanding. Lucky that my son is stuck with his ‘recruit-style’ hair since baby… like askar hair lah, they style where you have to use the machine to cut… Heheh… Anyway, one day I woke up and felt that I would not subject myself to such torture every morning, ever again…. Mana nak iron my scarf (this one must be fresh from the oven, cannot pre-iron, else...

It's Father's Day already

Everywhere, people are celebrating Father’s Day. Special dinners for fathers, gifts for fathers… and suddenly I realized that this is going to be the first year I’ll be celebrating Father’s Day without my father. It’s been almost a year now. 16th July 2005… time does fly fast. Felt like it was just yesterday that I helped him to walk, bathed him and administered his insulin injections… I never like hospitals, let alone doctors and their needles. But since he stayed with me, I was the one who did all his insulin injections, 2 times a day. Oh yes, there were days when the injections didn’t go well… Now I have only memories to cherish… This year, my ‘Happy Father’s Day’ wish goes to my husband and my FIL. Nik gets this from me this year… and a pack of assorted chocolates … ( that’s for me to share with him, of course…must pandai pilih present lah, so you get to share some portion heheheh ) And we’ll be going to Cyberview Resort this weekend to relax and unwind. To all fathers out there…....

A Walk to Remember!?

Finally, I’m writing…. The trip to Singapore was fun…. And also, full of crazy moments.. heheh… Clockwise : The Q @ immigration, street performers @ Orchard, moi infront of Far East Plaza, Nik chilling out @ Starbucks Suntec CT & my precious new sandal... I like!! We left KL after Subuh & managed to reach Johor around 10am. The trip was a short one so we decided to leave the kids behind. It was a smooth ride on a cool & very breezy morning with just enough sun all the way (yes, made me sleepy also!). I took some cool pictures along the way and later discovered that I accidently deleted all of the scenery pics from my camera.... *sigh* Sometimes I can be more than the word 'clumsy' could describe... Anyway, we wanted to enter Singapore via TUAS, then I remembered that we didn’t even have a single cent of S$, so we drove down to JB town and looked for money changer. Then I thought…. no harm of taking the Causeway since it was a Sunday and I was so damn sure that traf...

Where Have You Been.....!?

Things have been going at a very speedy pace lately. Looking back, my last entry was in May, and it’s now June.... and we have walked half the journey of Year 2006... another half a year to go. Ohhhh!!!… did I tell you that Nik is now back in KL? … for good? Hmm…. I surely hope so. He came back on the 20th last month, and is now based in KL. Yeah, he might travel here and there once in a while, but only for a few days or so. Haahhh… am I glad to hear that. My last trip to Jakarta last month was the last trip indeed. I took the liberty to visit every single malls there (heheh) and in conjunction with the Mother’s Day celebration, we had our last dinner there in one of the restaurants in downtown Jakarta. Two weeks later, Nik came home…. woohoo!!!! Our final moments in Jakarta So for the past 2-3 weeks he’s in town, we have been planning (we still are) some activities with the kids because it’s school holidays...…. all the makan makan, movie watching, jalan jalan, window shopping, jalan...

Al-Fatihah

My hairdresser, Ira, was killed in an accident yesterday morning on her way to the salon. She was on her motorbike when she got hit by a lorry from the back. She was thrown away a few feet from her bike and died instantly. She suffered some internal injuries and her body was sent to her parents in Terengganu yesterday. I was devastated when the owner of the beauty salon told me. She was a kind person and knew all her customers well. I don't think I'll ever find someone as understanding as her.... My heart goes out to her family. May she rests in peace.... Al-Fatihah.

This is For A Friend!

To my friend (you-know-who).... hope the chat that we had this morning managed to bring at least a smile to your face... As I said, whenever you have doubts, search for the answer in your deepest heart... This poem is for you! Cheers...... Childhood Friends As childhood friends We grew up together Swearing to be friends forever and ever Sometimes we would argue and fight Other times we would laugh and stay up all night We went from playing with games and toys To talking and dreaming about different boys My thoughts and feelings, to you I would confide Never having anything to hide Friends we do remain, Things changing and things staying the same. To each other we still listen and share About each other, we will always care.... (from netpoetsociety)

Happy Mothers Day!!!!

Naqeeb is recovering, as of this morning. Yesterday, his temperature was not stable yet and he was still coughing. When I reached home around 8pm last night, he was lying in front of the TV watching his favorite cartoon – SpongeBob Square Pants and he looked so weak. So I decided to take him to the clinic to have another round of check. The doctor conducted a thorough check on him and told me that his lung was still quite full. He had to take another shot of nebulizer…. Poor Naqeeb... and he was so calm during the treatment and managed to throw a smile when I took this pic! We reached home at about 10.30 pm and he dozed off immediately after eating his fries (he made me drove all the way to Sect 3 Drive Thru McD to get just a small pack of fries…). This morning when I left for work, he looked okay. Hopefully he will feel better today as we are flying off to Jakarta tomorrow morning for a few days…. Mother’s Day celebration la konon nya tu…. Hehehe Till then, you all have a great long ...

Oh What A Week.....!!!!!

*Sigh!!!!!!!!!* Have been wanting to update this blog but ended up not doing it…. On Monday, Naqeeb was down with bronchitis and athma, so yesterday morning was quite a chaos. He was barely asleep the night before and I was already at the SJMC ER at 7.30am. Naqeeb’s temperature was running high and he was coughing / whizzing quite badly. While waiting for the doctor, he threw up on the floor and the nurses were running around trying to get some towels for him and a small container, just in case if he throws up again. After the doctor attended to him, he was given a shot of nebulizer to calm his breathing and it was already 9.30am when we left the hospital. I took him home and he fell asleep instantly. I reached my office around 10.30am feeling so exhausted. I’m not sure what caused the attack is this time but I’m definitely sure it is not caused by his activities at home. We had a short trip to KL Aquaria on Sunday and last Saturday was his Sports Day…. (and this is like a week ago). E...

To Be or Not To Be

Deadlines were over…. Yesterday was my last day here…. And today marks a whole new beginning of my career life here….. I could be wrong or I could be right for making this decision… but I’ve made up my mind to take up the challenges, nonetheless. I know I’m subjecting myself to a lot of hardwork as well as criticism, scrutiny and observation from the rest……. and time definitely has to be compromised. But being a risk taker…. I am, I know I just have to pull myself together and face the obstacles - one at a time. It’s too late to undo things anyway and the best thing to do is to be positive. Both legs are in and it’s time to march towards the horizon with pride and dignity. Only time can answer the doubts that I have in me now… meanwhile, I need all the luck that I can have.

I'm Swimming in a Pool of Papers!!!

I MISS my blogging days!!!! Huuaaaa!!!! Although I am two days away from my deadlines.... …. today I just can’t stop my poor-exhausted- little-fingers from clicking that blue ‘E’ icon on the task bar and feeling so guilty at the same time (AS IF!!!)…. Hehehe Looking at my blog…. whoa… it’s been a while since it was last updated. Very unreliable blog owner eh! Sorry lah friends but I weally weally treasure your tireless effort of visiting here every single day and feeling disappointed (at the same time) to find that all the stories here are so OUTDATED and OBSOLETE . From the last time I actually wrote, I have so much to write.. MEGABYTES of stories, believe me!!! But the problem is…. with my almost fully used up RAM, not to mention the rusty and somewhat dead brain cells (grows proportionately with age lah I guess), I just can’t secure all ceritas inside my mind…. And as days went by, I saw one by one releasing itself from the memory bank.. which I assumed to give way to new items la...
