Penang oh! Penang

Being a few days away from the blogging world was quite a challenge. I had so many things on my mind that I wanted to talk about and by the time I was in front of my laptop.. all went ‘ppooofftttt’! Gone…. And my mind now is BLANK… as blank as a piece of new A4 paper …

*thinking mode*
full of ideas...... then...

We were in Penang last weekend; we left KL on Friday morning and came back on Sunday. It was an unplanned, last minute & short getaway... as usual.

Our usual holiday was normally on X’mas week because of Naqeeb’s bday and our anniversary. This year, something else was planned during that period and we obediently gave in …. for reasons God knows why… although we know that the destination was not something that we would want to take the kids. That being said, we went along anyway & things don’t go as planned eventually… hahhaha… what a waste!

Anyway, we made a short trip to Penang for the kids to enjoy themselves…. and fun was all they had!

hahahah.... we had fun too! I was trying to make him lose his focus... and i failed! Deng!

Yes..... SIFU in action.... hahahaha

Lone Pine is a GREAT hotel. Recommended by Jumie, I really lurrve this place and I will vote this second, after Hard Rock. If you like a quiet place to rest and enjoy the surrounding, this is the right hotel for you. If you like fun and music, Hard Rock it is!

A small wading pool in the room, by the balcony... wonderful eh? Naqeeb dah book dah tempat dia...

The best pool....

Swim and swim and swim… that’s all we did… of course Nasreen preferred to sit by the pool and did her ‘thang’, whatever that was….

the food was fantastic too.....

Night market along Feringhi Beach.. just in front of the hotel...

On Saturday we had our lunch at Line Clear. I just have to try that warung because of the hype it created. Upon reaching the place… my jaw dropped. Not what I expected…. at all! Though it was such a turn off for me, we queued for the food anyway, since we spent more than an hour on the road trying to get to this place (thanks to Penang traffic, which is worse than KL on weekdays!!!!).

Getting there - Patience needed because traffic in Penang sucks… BIG TIME!

Food - OK lar… I dunno why people keep coming here…still think Devi’s has the best Indian food so far

Service - fast but the queue, my gawd, was killing me

Cleanliness - Speechless…… this you must see it for yourself

While in Penang, Nik took the opportunity to visit his bike shops, Guan How in Juru and David Choo in Butterworth. Of course, this put him on his ‘angan-angan’ mode till today… hahahha

Journey back... view was spectacular!

Penang adalah destinasi pilihan pertama orang orang KL/Kedah/Ipoh kalau nak bercuti. Kalau musim cuti sekolah tiba-tiba Penang penuh dengan kereta dengan no plet bukan P. :)

I am busy, I'm confused!

I have been very quiet this week.. no updates, no hopping around leaving any trail of my existence, probably due to the following reasons: 1. Nasreen will be having her exam next week, so I’m busy reviewing her syllabus (and also nagging to make sure she prepares herself). Yes, instead of her reviewing her books, the responsibility – by default – is shifted to me…. Hmm, mothers nowadays. We feel the pressure more than our kids (and we panic even more while waiting for the results to come out). Hehehe. I can’t remember my mother even touched my textbooks when I was in Primary 3. No wonder we grow old faster these days…. 2. I’m having mood swings this week. One day, I feel elated, then mellow on the next day, moody on the following day. Work is adding on my desk, scope is being expanded, news is floating around and remarks are beings smacked everywhere (manage to steer clear of some and the rest sometimes just landed right on my very lap). Don’t you hate it when you are so positive that ...
Yes, I’ve been blessed with a lot of wonderful people around me….. yes friends, you! Read on…. Yesterday, around 6.15pm, I was in the middle of reviewing something when I was called for a meeting with one of big bosses here…. And I was thinking in anger, ‘Great! It’s 6.30pm and they want to have a meeting. Don’t they have families to run back home to????” So I got up from my chair and ran down to one of the meeting rooms in Level 5. I peeped through the small glass and the room was dark and empty. They were not even they yet! Heck! But when I pushed open the door, suddenly I heard people screaming and laughing and shouting, “Happy Birthday To You!!!!” and everyone was holding a candle in their hand. Gosh! My colleagues planned a Birthday Party for me. No wonder the department was empty when I left and I didn’t even notice. I was speechless! I was asked to blow the candles that they were holding and those on the cake (oh! The cake was so yummylicious!) I was so touched. Everybody was th...

It was Nik's Birthday

It was my husband’s birthday yesterday and we took the day off to ‘merewang’ while feeling young, kononnya. The theme of the celebration? Reminiscing the days when we were courting back in 1993 minus the snow.... ancient sungguh rasanya! We had our breakfast at O’Brien’s early in the morning and took a slow stroll along the shops in OU and enjoyed every minute of it (at 10am in the morning, mind you, and the shops were barely opened). Later we watched ‘Lake House’ and we were charged RM12 only for 2 tickets (the early bird tickets were so damn cheap, I almost fainted!). There were only a few couples inside and we took the opportunity to sit right at the middle (ikut suka hati), since the theater was quite empty. How was the movie? Hmm… ok la, I would say it was the right movie for the occasion… hehe. A bit slow though, biasa la, romantic piece. The ending part was quite ‘touchy’ and yes, Mr Reeves was so stunningly handsome (oh yes, nampak tua sikit la and still got the looks). ...
