Life’s been quite hectic since I got back from my long holiday. Work to finish, documents to finalize, meetings to attend, house to clean, big big piles of laundry to do, clothes to iron…. The list is endless….and I’m down with fever, athma, flu…. Where do I start!?
Anyway, the trip to Jakarta was fabulous! We had so much fun and the kids really enjoy themselves too. Our daily agenda was simple…
Morning to afternoon….. sand pool!!! Every single day….. while the kids were having fun, I turned darker and darker each day (or tanned…. hehe, let’s just put it that way).
Evening, when Nik came back from work .….. “jalan jalan” time!!! Toyota VIOS are widely used as taxis there.... impressive eh!? The apartment that we stayed was closed to quite a number of malls, so my daily activities were evolved around those buildings... (hahaha! I’m beginning to love Jakarta!). I took the liberty to visit Ciputra Mall – where I bought loads of souvenirs to take home, Anggerik Mall - there’s a Martha Thilaar Sari Ayu beauty parlour in here and they sell thousand kinds of jamu and beauty creams which made me just…. ahhhh! went mad!!!!!, Pasaraya Blok M - they sell gorgeous-stunning-dazzling kebaya/batik which costs a bomb! and Plaza Senayan (my favourite!!!) – where you can see an array of LV, Dior, Ferragamo, Prada boutiques alike…..stand so proudly in the middle section of the building and these boutiques are surrounded by Sogo, Metro, Marks & Spencer (things are slightly cheaper there as compared to KL), Next, Guess, Esprit and some other stores which rank equally the same – and that’s where I shopped! Ha ha ha…. and those Indonesians who shopped there looked like celebrities... (they are so stunningly beautiful!!!!)
We traveled to Bandung in one of our weekends there. The journey took approximately 2 ½ hrs or so…. On the way there, we stopped at Ciater Hot Spring and some ‘Gunung Breapi’ areas…. (forgot the name). One was so huge - Kawah Ratu (has been inactive for years now) but we were not allowed to go down….and another one was 1.2km away from the main road so we had to walk all the way in through the jungle (so very adventurous!) – it’s 2.4km in and out, mind you! Now I know how I got my athma ..!#@$ ^&*? But it was worth the trip. The view was spectacular! I can see the water bubbling at 100 degrees Celcius. Some of the tourists even boiled eggs in there….

It was almost 4pm when we hit for Bandung…so I had less than 3 hours to shop before the day turned dark (6pm there is like 7.30pm here, so you always feel like it’s time to head home already…..). It turned out that we didn’t manage to do much of a shopping activity there ….. hhhmm, that sounded so unlike me…so not original! That’s when it hit me….right there! I thought that I need to come back here one more time…. Because I felt so incomplete…. hehehe (lame excuse..eh?) Boy, why is Nik not surprise to hear this?????
Then, I discovered that BreadTalk is so famous in Jakarta, that you always have to queue (a very long one!) every time - literally!) when you made your purchases. It’s like you’re queuing for movies tickets in KL!!!!! Just look at the picture! And, believe it or not, I found it strange that I ended up queuing at this shop almost everyday for a couple of Spicy Chicken Floss Bun and a loaf of bread… (something which I rarely do in KL). Adapting to the environment!? Not!!!
11 days felt like less than a week when you were having fun enjoying every minute of the trip. Soon, we had to pack up and head home. But I was so determined to make ‘a come back!’…. ….
When?...
Only time will tell…….. tungggguuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Note : It took me 3 days & 2 nites to upload this entry. Connection was terribly slow and so very unstable, so this post is not something that 'comes out fresh from the oven'.... it's almost outdated, ok! .... blame it on the connectivity!!!!
