Me and My Friends

My circle of friends in the office is the most happening lot, if I may say, albeit our age difference. Juls is the only person who is at the same age with me, well… she was my roommate when we were in KPP. The other sisters are NBH, Sek Nor and Kak Maz, the leader of the troop. Leader - because she will keep us on our toes and scold us like nobody’s business…. hahaha. Her favorite line will be….. “I clobber your head!”. G on the other hand, is the youngest…. Perhaps she falls into our clan by accident.. hee hee. But we still love you, G! We always talk about our old days ahead, and how one day when we are alone in this world, we will all register into an old folk’s home, owned by G, simply because she has the money to run one. Juls is known for being the most ‘calm’ one… as in she will take her own sweet time to eat, drown in her own world (the world of Joe-Adam-Umaq, and maybe Mdm).. hehehe and she will make her ‘signature’ face whenever she’s full… (muka confuse). ...

To Eat or Not To Eat

I’ve been eating… So I’m growing… at a very alarming rate! Today, I decided, no more rice for me! Yeah, that’s it! Enough is enough! And so I skipped breakfast. I had only a cup of coffee (because I was so darn sleepy this morning) – thanks to all the new VCDs I just bought in Shah Alam Mall. There was a Green Campaign launched at 11am in my office and everyone gathered at L8 to witness the kickoff of green initiatives by the Green Team. I felt dizzy standing in the middle of the crowd… I guessed I was hungry .. hahaha By 12.30 pm I was hungry like a wolf… and off I went.. to Plaza Damaz Aji Don. And what’s for lunch? Mee Rebus… Popia Basah… Tauhu Bakar… Kerepok Lekor…. Haaaa…. So much of skipping breakfast lah kan…. Duhhh! All effort is going straight down the drain! You failed miserably Nazura!
I realized this morning that I am filing every inch of my pants and blouse…. perfectly… with my flesh! (read : I am GROWING!!!... in size that is) sigh!!! I lost a few kgs during Ramadhan and I gained more than ‘a few kgs’ thereafter… I have 3 meals a day (without fail). and not forgetting the ‘munching moments’ in between. It was months since I last weigh myself on that little machine, which always gives me a heart attack every time I stepped on it. But I know the numbers are now ‘bigger’ – as in the value as opposed to the size – so I pushed the machine to the darkest corner of my storeroom. What you don’t know won’t hurt you… But what I know is…. I fill up my jeans PERFECTLY, meaning they have no rooms for my skin to breathe. Either the jeans shrink or my body yang dah inflate…. aiyyoohh. Sungguh susah hati ni. I just can’t stop from indulging myself with all the good food (read = chocolate, ice cream, Famous Amos, Starbucks… and not forgetting, my energy booster – rice!!!). Now, le...

This Is It!!!

It was indeed a very long day for me today. I was already at the school compound around 10.15am. A few other parents were already there waiting. Yes, the day that we all had been waiting for…. D Day. I was seriously nervous. A text message came from Nasreen’s teacher informing me that the results would be out by 11.30am. Wow… more than an hour to go. Nasreen is having an eye infection so the doctor advised her to be quarantined at home… and there I was, waiting for the result on her behalf… and experiencing a total nervous breakdown. I was walking back and forth, my palms were cold and white like The Cullens, I had goose bumps all over… “this is worse that getting married”, I was saying to myself. Lucky to the wonderful (and gelabah) mothers like me – Sha, Riz and CT, I tried to calm down. Later Nik came from office to join me. More than 1 hour passed by….. when they called Nasreen’s name a few times, I hurriedly ran to the stage in front of the student hall, waving and s...

Butang Baju Abang Mana Pah...?

I bought a white blouse from ZARA sometime ago and didn’t get the chance to wear it until today. So, last night I took it out and iron it, without realizing that it has more than 20 little buttons on it….!!!!! The blouse is easily wrinkled so no way I’m going to shove it down my body with the buttons unopened. Was pretty sure that it would looked like a used nasi lemak wrapper by the time I managed to put it on my body. Dengan degilnya….. Slowly I unbuttoned each and every one of them, with patience. Looked at my watch, it was already 7.15 am. Damn you buttons! You made me late for work! A few minutes passed by and I managed to unbuttoned all. Quickly, I put on the blouse and now I realized that those needed to be buttoned back, ok! Again…. I buttoned them, one by one – it was harder buttoning it because of my big jari-jemaris and the buttons are so small, half the size of a 5 sen coin, mind you…!!!! Haiyyyaa…. The clock was ticking and I was there in there in my room, still str...

Weekend Getaway

We decided to be spontaneous last week… hence the trip to PD. I feel that the more we age, the more spontaneous we become…. yes? Mid life crisis!? (GBS, comment please!) Last weekend Nik decided to ride to Avillion Admiral Cove, PD. I was thrilled. The furthest we’ve been was only to Cyberview, besides the usual trips to Starbucks Uptown or Taipan USJ for makan makan (what else?). The trips to Uptown were usually late night trips (because we just love to lepak lepak until Starbucks tutup... boleh?), and late because we wanted to avoid the traffic. Yes, traffic there is bad even on weekends … I wonder if the people there ever sleep… Anyway, the plan was to leave in the morning so that we can have breakfast in PD … no rush and a bit relaxing… but when I woke up at 5am on that Saturday, it was drizzling. It drizzled the whole morning, so to kill the time, I decided to do some washing and cleaned the house while waiting for the rain to subside. But the thing is, it never did… and the clock...

Life IS Complicated

I was driving to work and listening to the radio this morning when a topic discussed by the DJ caught my attention. The DJ was interviewing a psychologist from Sunway Medical Centre and the topic was – Why forgive and forget when you should forgive and never forget. Of course they had callers calling in (mostly women) saying that they always forgive but sometimes never forget – I raised my hand in the car to show my support…. Hahahha. And all the time we have people telling us to forget about the past so that you can start new with your journey.. etc etc.. But this psychologist said that what we should do is not to forget what we had forgiven. History repeats itself and soon, we’ll be at a junction thinking … oh, this happened to me last time, now what should I do to handle this so that I will not face the same problem… or what should I do to ensure that the problem does not happen to me again? So to him, it is important to remember the past… As for me, I used to be a hard headed perso...

Business + Leisure

The ‘excursion’ to Teluk Cempedak Kuantan was great. Though we were stuck in hotel for 5 days straight, we had fun… of course, the team that was with me was also gila-gila….. Future CEO and MD... hahaha 5 meals a day… breakfast, morning tea break, lunch, evening tea break, dinner… I think I easily gained more than 2 kgs. The fat burned during Ramadhan is nothing compared to the amount of food gobbled down my throat after Ramadhan. Not to mention series of Hari Raya open houses that I attended last 2 weeks… Anyway, my family arrived in TC Kuantan on the fifth day (Friday) so the fun continued for me. Lunch at Kemaman Kopitiam (I LURVE this kopitiam!!!), Dinner @ PakSu Seafood, pool, sandy beach, shopping at EC Mall….. the pictures below will tell all…

I M Back

Vision for 2009 - Leave the corporate world? Duhhhh… Don’t worry, I’m still here. Can’t believe that I left this blog for almost a year now… thanks to FB!! But now I’m back. Back to the blogging world… and I have so many things to update, so stick around…

Happy New Year.... Welcome 2009

In a blink, 2009 is just a few hours away, how fast time flies! I was trying to make hotel bookings around KL and surprisingly, all rooms are fully booked. I thought its recession?! Anyway, I must say 2008 is a good year, with a mixture of some ‘not-so-great’ moments…. But that’s the facts of life and they add colors to your life. Career? Hmm…. Ok lah…. it’s always a cycle for me here in *****. Exposed to new field, learned new things, met new people. It’s already a routine for me. Family? We moved to our new house in May and oh! The children birthdays were in 1st and 24th December….. lots of presents to buy plus our 12th anniversary was also in late December….. plus all my nieces’ birthdays and mom’s birthday….. in short, I’m so BROKE!!! Hahahah….. My Life? has been GREAT…. Launched my website some months back, me and my website was featured in a local magazine plus the brand is traveling gradually to corporate offices and I’m slowly getting huge orders…. expanding my borders. I’m als...

Between then and now..

My last entry was in March 08 and it’s now July ’08. I’ve been hibernating. Between March and July, a lot of things had happened and still happening, perhaps. It was my birthday in March and as usual, my wonderful friends organized birthday party without my knowledge….. and some got scolded (for calling me to see the ‘bosses’ up there) – in the course of making it happened… sorry Kak Maz! Hee hee It was a surprise ‘makan makan’ with loads of goodies and cakes. Jane was kind enough to go ‘snappy snappy’ while we were busy filling up our tummies… And thanks to those who sent me big big bouquet of flowers (the ‘ho-heg’ gang and also little girl Fara) – and made my new officemates so jealous of me…. Hahahah… April onwards, I was busier than a bee. I was assigned to a new department and this assignment thingy seems never ending! Haiiii…… in the 3 and a half years I’m here, I’ve been adjusting and adapting so many times that I feel like I’m an older version of those Management Trainees (or m...

My First Time

It has been more than a week since 2008 Election Day but the topic is still hot and remains the ‘talk of the town’. One refers to it as the political tsunami….. another says that the citizens has spoken… the other feels that it’s time for a change…. and one may think that the citizens are sending a different message – a wake up call. Call it whatever, I’m not going to dwell further on the issue. An unfavorable decision by some may be a desired one by the other half and what has been decided is altogether a joint decision made by the PEOPLE. What I want to touch here is the ‘experience’. Why is it important? Well, simply because it was my first time voting as a citizen of Malaysia… ha ha ha… I did my duty as a resident of Malaysia. I registered in year 2004 – at the ancient age of 32, but for some unknown reasons, I was not able to vote. So this year, when they announced about the election, I was so very excited. I checked my name on the SPR website and yes!!!!! It was there – th...

LOVE IS IN THE AIR

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY y'all!

Miss Einstein - In The Making...

What do I do when I have spare time? Experiments!!!! And you wont be surprise to discover the number of lab equipments that I have destroyed (like Bunsen burners, brown glass jars, beakers, boiling tubes – to name a few) while I discovered my talents and nurtured my interests some 20 years ago… (and not to mentioned how I pissed off the lab teacher with my nuisance). So…. What did I do last (looonngggg) weekend? One My daughter loves ‘cokodok’… with prawn & anchovies, minus the shredded onion and ‘taugeh’ and chopped ‘kucai’. It’s veggie-free ‘cokodok’. Last weekend, I added an egg to the cokodok mixture, half portion of fresh milk and half portion of condensed milk. Of course, a pinch of salt will add to the taste… and voila!!!!! I ended up with a huge basket of rich, creamy and mouth-watering ‘cokodok’, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside….. beats Jamie Oliver! Definitely! Two Every time my mom does her laundry, the whole house smells like Downy (a brand name for fab...

Happy Hols!

Wishing everyone a Happy & Prosperous Chinese New Year!!!!

AGAIN...

I missed my blog… and my friends too ….! So here I am AGAIN…. Trying to write AGAIN…… and hoping that my cyber friends will drop by AGAIN….. No excuse this time. It’s just that I’ve been busy with work, with life, with cakes…. And a lot more WITHs. No, I’m not justifying my absence here, but merely trying not to look bad. But above all…. I miss all of you, friends!!!!! Helllooooo…. Got people here, kah? Feels like I’m in the I Am Legend the movie

Heartfelt Condolence ... Nurin Jazlin Jazimin

May God bless her little soul… Authorities have confirmed that the DNA tests conducted on the body of a little girl found stuffed in the gym bag in PJ is that of Nurin Jazlin, 8, who went missing more than 30 days ago. My heart goes out to her parents and as a mother; there are no words that can describe the feeling inside me when they announced the dread news this afternoon. I hurriedly picked up the phone and dialed my home’s number and I was so relieved to hear the voice of my children. May Nurin rest in peace. Al Fatihah…

Hello AGAIN.....

My oh my….. Where have I been? My last updated entry was in May!!! This is the LONGEST time that I’ve been away from the blogging world…. In short, I failed my KPI and in real world, I should be TERMINATED!!!!! Actually, I have been very busy, beyond words… between late meetings and being in & out of town, I have literally no time left for myself. I need oxygen….!!!! I haven’t been updating my website, I haven’t been updating my bog, I haven’t been checking my gmails and I have loads and loads of pics and stories to tell……. minus the T.I.M.E. While I was away from the cyber world, my hamster had given birth 3 times already (totaling to 17 babies!!) ….. hee hee… imagine how long have I been shutting off my world from the rest….. Anyway, I will try to ‘slowly-slowly’ update lah…. and sorry for disappointing those visitors who dropped by and only to find stale news…. Sigh!!! Till then….. tata!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mommies out there… On that very special day itself, I was quite busy baking Mother’s Day cakes for my ‘little’ customers and these customers are all 10 years old – oh yes, they are Nasreen’s classmates. My daughter kept on reminding me that I needed to get the cakes ready by certain time on that day, and that the cakes needed to be delivered to the little customers’ houses. Her friends had been keeping some money to order the cakes from me for their moms … and I thought that is very sweet. Since budget was a constraint (they made Nasreen promised that the price would not exceed certain amount and that they would cancel the order immediately if the cakes cost more than that amount….. hehehe). So demanding eh these little customers? Anyway, since it was a very special day and these little customers I considered as my special customers, I decided that I would make their cakes a little bit different than usual….. My children went ‘oohh’ and ‘aaahhh...
