Heartfelt Condolence ... Nurin Jazlin Jazimin

May God bless her little soul… Authorities have confirmed that the DNA tests conducted on the body of a little girl found stuffed in the gym bag in PJ is that of Nurin Jazlin, 8, who went missing more than 30 days ago. My heart goes out to her parents and as a mother; there are no words that can describe the feeling inside me when they announced the dread news this afternoon. I hurriedly picked up the phone and dialed my home’s number and I was so relieved to hear the voice of my children. May Nurin rest in peace. Al Fatihah…

Hello AGAIN.....

My oh my….. Where have I been? My last updated entry was in May!!! This is the LONGEST time that I’ve been away from the blogging world…. In short, I failed my KPI and in real world, I should be TERMINATED!!!!! Actually, I have been very busy, beyond words… between late meetings and being in & out of town, I have literally no time left for myself. I need oxygen….!!!! I haven’t been updating my website, I haven’t been updating my bog, I haven’t been checking my gmails and I have loads and loads of pics and stories to tell……. minus the T.I.M.E. While I was away from the cyber world, my hamster had given birth 3 times already (totaling to 17 babies!!) ….. hee hee… imagine how long have I been shutting off my world from the rest….. Anyway, I will try to ‘slowly-slowly’ update lah…. and sorry for disappointing those visitors who dropped by and only to find stale news…. Sigh!!! Till then….. tata!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mommies out there… On that very special day itself, I was quite busy baking Mother’s Day cakes for my ‘little’ customers and these customers are all 10 years old – oh yes, they are Nasreen’s classmates. My daughter kept on reminding me that I needed to get the cakes ready by certain time on that day, and that the cakes needed to be delivered to the little customers’ houses. Her friends had been keeping some money to order the cakes from me for their moms … and I thought that is very sweet. Since budget was a constraint (they made Nasreen promised that the price would not exceed certain amount and that they would cancel the order immediately if the cakes cost more than that amount….. hehehe). So demanding eh these little customers? Anyway, since it was a very special day and these little customers I considered as my special customers, I decided that I would make their cakes a little bit different than usual….. My children went ‘oohh’ and ‘aaahhh...

Sport's Day

KPI set : 1 entry per week Output : nil Performance : do not meet expectation Rating : 4 – Poor I am doomed! As much as I try to meet the requirement set by my ownself, I failed so miserably last week. So this week’s submission is as follows…. Naqeeb & Nasreen had their Sports Day (some weeks ago). Due to my procrastination-habit, I decided to blog about it a little bit later…. And now later means almost two months after the event. Just like I’ve promised Naddy that I’ll blog about my trip “nanti”… and nanti seems like eternity. Sigh!!!! Reason for the delay? Not enough time, too busy with work, too busy with business, too busy with pets and kids, too lazy to download pictures to laptop. In other words – no reason for the delay. Anyway, Naqeeb participated in a few events for Year 1 students, and Nasreen was there to provide moral support. She ended up running around the school helping her teachers with prizes and winners lists. I noticed that my daughter enjoys doing charity ...

Me & My Babies.....

My KPI for this quarter – update my blog EVERY week! So , for this week – here’s my update: Introducing our new family member, Spidey (Naqeeb loves Spiderman so much) & Fifi. Spidey is owned by Naqeeb and Fifi belongs to Nasreen (yes, we can tell from their choices of names eh). After so much hesitation, we finally bought the hamsters for the children. I could tell even from looking at their faces, they were really, truly happy to receive the RM40 hamsters. I feel that there’s just so many inexpensive ways to please our children, but somehow, we - the parents - choose to shower them with hi-tech toys, expensive Barbie sets, up-to-date Lego boxes…… and in the end, everything will be dumped into the big toy bin which gets cleaned only 2-3 times in a year! (or was it a once-a-year event?? I must check my cleaning schedule.) Oh, there’s another member to introduce…… meet my new grey, C-kay. Although we bought Elvy (shown below) to replace our Elvy who escaped last month, we feel that i...

Happy Birthday to Me!!!

I must tell the world that I’m a year older on this day…… And people will start asking you, what’s the lucky number? Some will say, “Biarlah Rahsia” Some will say, “MYOB” Some will say, “It’s for me to know, for you to find out” For me, I’ll proudly say, “…… not a BIG number, & not a small one either. It’s 35 !!! Woohoooooo!!!!” In other words, it’s neither here not there lah…. (self-denial kah ini????) OK la…. one year older and nothing much to shout about. Although there are a lot of things that I feel that I haven’t accomplished in life, but I am so thankful for every single thing that has been granted to me by Him, especially for the wonderful family and all the wonderful friends that I have around me. A lot of things are coming my way this year and I hope things will turn out fine, insya allah. And what do I enjoy most about my birthday???? Yes….. the food and the gift from the father of my children…. Hehehe. But since we celebrated my birthday in the land of Down Under…. We h...

Weird Tag

I’ve been tagged by L-Lee . Whoa…. Haven’t been tagged for so long eh… Anyway, I have to think really hard of the weirdest things about me. OK, here goes… 6 weird things about me: One When I sleep at night, I need something to cover the lower part of my legs, especially my toes. Sometimes I use the comforter or if I can’t find any, I’ll use pillow instead. I feel something will come & bite my toes off (or maybe sucks the blood off them like toyol! @!!$#) Noooo!!!!!!!!!! Two I love cats so much so whenever I cuddle them, especially my cat - Crystal, I’ll hold their heads & put their tiny nose on my cheek so many, many, many times! I like ’em as they are so tiny and cute! Three When I sit on a chair, I like to ‘bersila’. So that explains the reason why I seldom wear skirts or baju kurung to office. My legs get tired easily if I hang them down, so 90% of the time, I will bersila. Thanks to my all-covered-desk, nobody will be able to tell from far. Even if I sit in the car...

This One Is For Elvy!

Last weekend was a very depressing weekend for the whole family. My husband likes animals & he loves birds especially. He kept on telling me that he wanted to own birds for so long but I never encouraged him, due to my lack of interest in birds. I felt that birds are totally different from cats. You can hold & hug cats but how can you do that to birds? Anyway, early this year, I thought, well maybe I should give it a try – after seeing how adorable my uncle’s birds can be during our visit to Singapore. So we had an exotic bird – an African Grey . Nik took care of him since he was 3 weeks old…. And the bird was so small, weak, featherless & all. I named him Elvy. I seldom touched him because he looked so fragile but I began to love him as he grew. As days went by, he grew at an alarming rate and in 3 months, he turned out to be a very beautiful and smart bird. I became attached to him in less than a month. Last Saturday, unexpectedly he flew out from his cage & ...

After My Long Silence....

Year 2007 will be a VERY busy year for me. 3 months into 2007 and I have only 4 entries in my blog. If these entries were to be graded, I’m pretty sure I’ll get an F on Blogging Course. A lot (I really mean A LOT!) of activities have been lined up to be implemented plus the fact that I was forced to take up a-free-no-obligation-MBA-offer by my company. I wonder if my brain cells still work …. perhaps they are now clogged with fat! I left school years and years ago and to be exact, it was almost 12 years ago. Of course along the way, I did attend other classes but all I learned was how to make your cakes look good…… and nothing to do with Accounting, Business, Management, bla, bla, bla….. Well, they told me my class will start in March 07 (not a good month!) and the first 2 courses will be on Finance and Accounting. Yes, what a way to break the ice around my brain ….. I need my Caramel Macchiato now to warm me up! And oh…. Plus the fact that I’ll be missing my first few classes a...

Let's Get That New Book!!!

Hurry up! Let's run to MPH to get one of these!!!!!!

Outdated entry number 199

My visit to Shanghai late last year was great. I was swarmed with work that I just couldn’t find the time to update my blog. Most of the things that I planned to write had been erased from my memory (now that it’s a whole new year, I just wanna make sure that my brain is not clogged with old stuff). Anyway, it was fun and the scenery was beautiful. We went to 3 cities, Shanghai, Suzhou and Hangzhou. I discovered that they still maintain their old way of living, i.e. riding old bicycles in town, wearing big straw hats with frill skirts and blousse…. I felt like I’m going back in time… back to hundreds of years ago… and they still travel via their famous canals…. It was an interesting trip. The pictures will tell all….. Shanghai downtown at night. Canals in Suzhou and Shanghai (Yuyuen Garden, if I'm not mistaken ) Suzhou (left) and Shanghai the New World (right) from across the river Me @ Starbu cks Shopping in Shanghai will drive you nuts! It's...

New Year Resolutions!?

As always, I know it’s too late for the wish but I want to do it anyway. To all fellow bloggers & friends, near or far, Happy New Year & let’s embrace 2007 as it comes with the hope that we will have a great year ahead. Wah, time flies so fast. I was drowning with work and I felt that 2006 came and went with a splash. New year resolution??? Haa…. I have only 2 at the moment (I change resolution every month and by end of the year, I’ll be lost & not knowing which one that I must fulfill). Anyway, my resolution for Jan 2007 was to cut down on my spending (or shopping, rather!). Debt-free, 0-balance credit cards (well, at least 50% reduction, if not 100%) & to chunk in at least 15% of my salary into my Tabung Haji account (monthly without fail)… Only with 1 problem, with the Visit Malaysia Year, I’m sure there’ll be loads of sale going on, how can I be blamed for excessive spending???? BUT….. (notice the capital letters), it’s not even month end yet & I noticed I ...
