SC KL Marathon 2011

So the Day finally came….  The Day that we all had been waiting for with full of excitement.

I registered for the run back in Mar/Apr, if I can still remember.  So the excitement went back as far as 3 months ago.   I have never gone beyond 7km, so when the registration site was up, I registered mine and Nik’s for 5km and 10km respectively.  So every week, running for 5-6 km diligently was all I did.. until 2 days before the event..

Jeli texted me.  Oh…. btw Jeli is our neighbor & our cycling buddy.

Jeli : Ada sapa2 nak bib 10km Men?

Me : So far I lari 6-7km je, takut lari 7km,  lagi 3km jalan :D

Jeli : Let go ur bib to beginner, lari with us.  Ada berani?

Me : Kalau tak ada takers, I amik.  IC lain takpe ke?

Jeli : Kalau u naik podium, maybe akan jadi issue… hahahha

Me : Hahaha itu confirm tak akan terjadi… naik ambulans maybe :D

So there we were on Sunday – Me, Nik, Sha, Ajees and Jeli, already at Padang Merbok as early as 4.30am, with me wearing a 10km Men bib…. (and running my first 10km run – without practice!)  - we had to be there early to secure parking spots before the road closed at 5am... pfffttt!!

Such a big crowd along Jalan Parlimen, even at 4am

Fortunately, I survived!  I clocked 1.33 hrs right at the 10km mark and 1.41 hrs at the 11.2 km mark, i.e. the finishing line.

The route was interesting & challenging, and but when it went uphill at the Bukit Aman stretch, I walked because my problematic right foot was giving me problems.  I was scared that I couldn't finish the run but I was determined to complete it no matter what.  Once the road flattened again at Jalan Parlimen, I started running till the finishing line in Dataran Merdeka (with Three Doors Down & Christina Perri were singing my fav songs so loud and they made me feel like I was running so fast like like Forrest Gump... hehhehe).

Sempat lagi stopped and snapped!  hehehh

Yes, I didn’t record an impressive time but darn, I was happy to finish the run…

Next event will be the Adidas – King of the Road and Penang Bridge International Run….

Just can’t wait!  :D  Heal fast right foot!

After the run... Nik finished way too early before me

Hilang

A Walk to Remember!?

Finally, I’m writing…. The trip to Singapore was fun…. And also, full of crazy moments.. heheh… Clockwise : The Q @ immigration, street performers @ Orchard, moi infront of Far East Plaza, Nik chilling out @ Starbucks Suntec CT & my precious new sandal... I like!! We left KL after Subuh & managed to reach Johor around 10am. The trip was a short one so we decided to leave the kids behind. It was a smooth ride on a cool & very breezy morning with just enough sun all the way (yes, made me sleepy also!). I took some cool pictures along the way and later discovered that I accidently deleted all of the scenery pics from my camera.... *sigh* Sometimes I can be more than the word 'clumsy' could describe... Anyway, we wanted to enter Singapore via TUAS, then I remembered that we didn’t even have a single cent of S$, so we drove down to JB town and looked for money changer. Then I thought…. no harm of taking the Causeway since it was a Sunday and I was so damn sure that traf...

Antara Anyir & Jakarta

I’ve been making regular monthly trips to KLIA since my husband was posted to Jakarta last year. And yesterday….. again, I made my ‘latest trip’ there to send him off (after the recent trip that I had on 3/3/06 when I picked him up from KLIA to spend his 10 solid-days holiday with me and the kids here in KL). Time sure flew fast when you wished for the earth to stop and let you enjoy your 10 days just a little bit longer. Nevertheless, the ‘most awaited 10-days’ was over…..Nik is now back in Jakarta and I’m now back in my office, sitting in my chair, swiveling around every 10 minutes, gazing lazily at the workload dumped on my desk and trying very hard to find every energy stored in my body just to touch those piles of paper…. argh! But the 10-days period was spent joyfully. We took the weekend off last week for a quickie getaway at Cyberview Lodge Resort & Spa…. and oh boy! the resort is spectacular and the view is breathtakingly-beautiful. Of course, the children were the happies...
