Prawn & Chicken Wanton Soup

Last weekend, I was on my ‘Lazy Mode’.

So I made my ‘lazy dish’…. this required less effort and energy. All you need to do is campak campak the ingredients into the pot and ‘voillaa!!’, it’s all ready!

So let’s see what I put inside the pot…..

GIGANTIC Prawn-Chicken Wanton Soup

For wanton:

Minced chicken abt 200-300 gm

Big fat prawn (9-10) – since I AM a PRAWN lover, I put loads of this. You can cut it into small pieces, if you like. Otherwise your wanton skin will go koyak.

Salt n Pepper (I put loads of pepper)

Chives (cut into small pieces)

Carrot (diced)

2-3 tsp sesame oil

1 tsp corn flour

Wanton skin, to wrap the paste

Put everything together in a bowl (except the skin) and mix well.

Dump everything in and mix 'em all

Take a small spoonful of paste and wrap with wanton skin. Brush a bit of water at the joining part to make the skin stick together. Put aside.

All wrapped up, ready to be dunked in the soup

For soup:

Garlic (2-3) crushed

Abt 1-2 tbsp anchovies (blend) - alternatively, you can use 1 ikan bilis cube

Oil (1-2 tbsp)

Salt, to taste

Water (4-5 cups)

Heat oil in a pot. Add the crushed garlic and fry for a few minutes till garlic turns brown.

Add blended anchovies and fry till all golden brown. Add water and let it boil (add more water if you like).

Let the soup boil (this will take about 10 mins).

While the soup is boiling, drop the prepared wantons into the pot, one at a time. Continue till finish. Let it boil for another 5-10 mins so that the wanton is completely cooked.

Add in chives (optional). Serve while hot.

Enjoy the soup, peeps!

A Walk to Remember!?

Finally, I’m writing…. The trip to Singapore was fun…. And also, full of crazy moments.. heheh… Clockwise : The Q @ immigration, street performers @ Orchard, moi infront of Far East Plaza, Nik chilling out @ Starbucks Suntec CT & my precious new sandal... I like!! We left KL after Subuh & managed to reach Johor around 10am. The trip was a short one so we decided to leave the kids behind. It was a smooth ride on a cool & very breezy morning with just enough sun all the way (yes, made me sleepy also!). I took some cool pictures along the way and later discovered that I accidently deleted all of the scenery pics from my camera.... *sigh* Sometimes I can be more than the word 'clumsy' could describe... Anyway, we wanted to enter Singapore via TUAS, then I remembered that we didn’t even have a single cent of S$, so we drove down to JB town and looked for money changer. Then I thought…. no harm of taking the Causeway since it was a Sunday and I was so damn sure that traf...

Antara Anyir & Jakarta

I’ve been making regular monthly trips to KLIA since my husband was posted to Jakarta last year. And yesterday….. again, I made my ‘latest trip’ there to send him off (after the recent trip that I had on 3/3/06 when I picked him up from KLIA to spend his 10 solid-days holiday with me and the kids here in KL). Time sure flew fast when you wished for the earth to stop and let you enjoy your 10 days just a little bit longer. Nevertheless, the ‘most awaited 10-days’ was over…..Nik is now back in Jakarta and I’m now back in my office, sitting in my chair, swiveling around every 10 minutes, gazing lazily at the workload dumped on my desk and trying very hard to find every energy stored in my body just to touch those piles of paper…. argh! But the 10-days period was spent joyfully. We took the weekend off last week for a quickie getaway at Cyberview Lodge Resort & Spa…. and oh boy! the resort is spectacular and the view is breathtakingly-beautiful. Of course, the children were the happies...
