MEX & Mr T

It was a Tribute Ride to PK Yeoh

Well, when they announced about the ride some weeks ago... I was among the early birds who registered. The notice said the ride is about 33km..... Me and Sha went, "oh! that was easy peasy, 33km only. We did more than that every week....." Whoaaaa..... talked BIG laaa....

Nik, me and Ajees

As we have been plying the GCE almost every week , and I thought... MEX is just another highway. And little did I know that MEX has multiple hills... seriously, where's the flat road again?? Almost nadda.... ok!

When we drove to Sri Kembangan R&R on MEX, my jaw dropped! I said to myself.... whoaa!!! This is serious business man! Ups and downs everywhere..... They gotta be kidding me! Upon reaching the destination, there were about 100++ 'SERIOUS' cyclists, ready to conquer the road (made me shiver all over), escort cars were ready to escort the troop, some familiar faces and of course.. loads of high end & expensive bikes to envy... (red Bianchi Sha..... red Bianchi!) And I knew Nik couldn't take his eyes off that Pinarello! hehhehe.... drool je la ye....

Allez, Tarmac & Allez

But thanks to me for being ignorant, I conquered MEX.... yes, with much difficulties. At one point, I almost gave up. All I saw were hills and hills..... then seeing another than 'twin hills' in front of me, I was pretty sure I was not able to make it. Going at 14km/h, I pushed hard to make it to the top of the road, with almost '0' energy in me (I thought I gobbled up the whole of PowerBar this morning??) What was I thinking??

Making a few stops along the hway, and this is where he was knocked downed

We made a few stops to make sure we gather everyone back. Right after we made a u-turn at Endah Parade, we then passed through a ramp, a very steep one inded with multiple layers...... It was a very sunny morning and the sun was shining right on top of my head.....after doing more than 20km on a hilly stretch....... dang, climbing up the ramp made both my legs so hot and burning. I didn't even try to look up and see how long the ramp was. A very scary sight to see.... I paddled and paddled and paddled.... the ramp seemed so long like there was no ending to it. Why oh why did I do this to myself......!!!

So lesson learned this week - distance will not say it all. Check the road first, ok!
Eventually I completed the whole loop and I was freakin' tired and drained after that. And I still am.... huhuhu.

Me and my toys

Oh! By the way, that's me with mr T and mr Ali.... I managed to convince Nik to change my b'day present from this...

to this... hehehheh

TQ! TQ! TQ! u complete me..... hee hee hee... i mean, u almost complete my ride collection.... so next is Ducati Monster.... ehh... betul ke??? silap pulak....hehehehe

A Walk to Remember!?

Finally, I’m writing…. The trip to Singapore was fun…. And also, full of crazy moments.. heheh… Clockwise : The Q @ immigration, street performers @ Orchard, moi infront of Far East Plaza, Nik chilling out @ Starbucks Suntec CT & my precious new sandal... I like!! We left KL after Subuh & managed to reach Johor around 10am. The trip was a short one so we decided to leave the kids behind. It was a smooth ride on a cool & very breezy morning with just enough sun all the way (yes, made me sleepy also!). I took some cool pictures along the way and later discovered that I accidently deleted all of the scenery pics from my camera.... *sigh* Sometimes I can be more than the word 'clumsy' could describe... Anyway, we wanted to enter Singapore via TUAS, then I remembered that we didn’t even have a single cent of S$, so we drove down to JB town and looked for money changer. Then I thought…. no harm of taking the Causeway since it was a Sunday and I was so damn sure that traf...

Antara Anyir & Jakarta

I’ve been making regular monthly trips to KLIA since my husband was posted to Jakarta last year. And yesterday….. again, I made my ‘latest trip’ there to send him off (after the recent trip that I had on 3/3/06 when I picked him up from KLIA to spend his 10 solid-days holiday with me and the kids here in KL). Time sure flew fast when you wished for the earth to stop and let you enjoy your 10 days just a little bit longer. Nevertheless, the ‘most awaited 10-days’ was over…..Nik is now back in Jakarta and I’m now back in my office, sitting in my chair, swiveling around every 10 minutes, gazing lazily at the workload dumped on my desk and trying very hard to find every energy stored in my body just to touch those piles of paper…. argh! But the 10-days period was spent joyfully. We took the weekend off last week for a quickie getaway at Cyberview Lodge Resort & Spa…. and oh boy! the resort is spectacular and the view is breathtakingly-beautiful. Of course, the children were the happies...
