Bundt Strikes Again....!

Yes, I was so bored so I thought.... "why not I tried this recipe that I kept for God knows how long...."

Green Tea & Lemon Marble Cake

I got this from a friend's collection. Not sure the source of this recipe though...

Since I lurvveeeee green tea to bits, I was excited when I came across this one and I gave it a try... after waited for so long because I'm still on a bz-bee mode now.

Anyway, the cake is not bad, just that the green tea taste is not that powerful (bcoz I'm a green-tea-freak!), maybe you want to add another 2 tbsp of matcha powder to the batter.

Try-lah!

Green and yellow batter, alternate them to make the marble effect
Oh yes, that's my new bundt pan.... I know, I know, it's nice... tq! :D

Matcha powder

Zest of 1 lemon and lemon juice

... all went into the batter...

Green Tea & Lemon Marble Cake

2 2/3 cups self raising flour, sifted

2 1/3 cups sugar (I used only 2 cups because I hate too-sweet cakes)

1 tsp vanilla essence

6 eggs

2/3 cup sour cream

zest of one lemon

Juice of half a lemon (I used 2 tbsp of the juice)

1 tbsp green tea a.k.a matcha powder

230gm butter, melted (I used salted butter)

Combine eggs and sugar, whisk the the mixture with mixer, mix thoroughly till incorporated. Add in the essence, add put in the sour cream. Continue mixing till combine. Fold in the melted butter. Using a large spatula, stir in the flour, in 2 or 3 additions; stir till combine.

Divide the batter in halves, add the lemon zest & juice in 1 batter and fold in the green tea powder in the other bowl.

Pour the batter alternately and bake for about 1-1.5 hrs. or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.

A Walk to Remember!?

Finally, I’m writing…. The trip to Singapore was fun…. And also, full of crazy moments.. heheh… Clockwise : The Q @ immigration, street performers @ Orchard, moi infront of Far East Plaza, Nik chilling out @ Starbucks Suntec CT & my precious new sandal... I like!! We left KL after Subuh & managed to reach Johor around 10am. The trip was a short one so we decided to leave the kids behind. It was a smooth ride on a cool & very breezy morning with just enough sun all the way (yes, made me sleepy also!). I took some cool pictures along the way and later discovered that I accidently deleted all of the scenery pics from my camera.... *sigh* Sometimes I can be more than the word 'clumsy' could describe... Anyway, we wanted to enter Singapore via TUAS, then I remembered that we didn’t even have a single cent of S$, so we drove down to JB town and looked for money changer. Then I thought…. no harm of taking the Causeway since it was a Sunday and I was so damn sure that traf...

Antara Anyir & Jakarta

I’ve been making regular monthly trips to KLIA since my husband was posted to Jakarta last year. And yesterday….. again, I made my ‘latest trip’ there to send him off (after the recent trip that I had on 3/3/06 when I picked him up from KLIA to spend his 10 solid-days holiday with me and the kids here in KL). Time sure flew fast when you wished for the earth to stop and let you enjoy your 10 days just a little bit longer. Nevertheless, the ‘most awaited 10-days’ was over…..Nik is now back in Jakarta and I’m now back in my office, sitting in my chair, swiveling around every 10 minutes, gazing lazily at the workload dumped on my desk and trying very hard to find every energy stored in my body just to touch those piles of paper…. argh! But the 10-days period was spent joyfully. We took the weekend off last week for a quickie getaway at Cyberview Lodge Resort & Spa…. and oh boy! the resort is spectacular and the view is breathtakingly-beautiful. Of course, the children were the happies...
