Nightmare on Serambi Street

Pheewww…… T G I Friday today!!!! Finally!

It’s been quite a looonnggg week for me. Loads and loads of work to catch up.

Came back from my long break on Monday – 6 Feb 06. I was supposed to leave Jakarta on the first flight out on Monday morning. However, my flight was cancelled and I was directed by MAS ground staff to go on Air Asia instead. Unfortunately, (or luckily!!??.... as I didn’t feel like going back yet!), the flight was full and I decided to switch to the last flight @ 6.30pm. I arrived home around 11pm and was terribly exhausted and sleepy… and the thought of going to work the next morning made me drowsier…aarrgghhh!!!

And what happened on Tuesday???? Yup, exactly!….. I woke up late! It was almost 7am when I finally managed to open my eyes, wide enough to drag and guide my physical body to the bathroom, with my semi-functioning brain. Spend about 1 hr getting ready (shortest time in history, I tell you!). Grabbed whatever was ready in the closet, put only the ‘necessary’ on my face and fixed my tudung…..all with very minimum effort as time was running short.

Grabbed my handbag and ran down…. And there inside the bathroom, Naqeeb was crying frantically! Refused to shower, refused to get dressed….and another 20 minutes there to calm him down and sweet-talk him to go to school.

Jumped into my car, started the engine and to my horror, the gas tank was EMPTY!!!! The pointer was pointing right below E…. haiiyyyyyaaaakk. Horror! Horror! I was hoping that I could make it to the nearest gas station. So, off I went…. And thank God I reached TTDI Jaya Shell station safely…so I quickly filled up my tank. Maybe I was somewhat dreaming while doing it (or there was no coordination between my brain and my hands)… and suddenly I realized that I COMPLETELY filled up every inch of the tank and the petrol overflowed….. Some spilled onto my sandal!! Ggggrrrrr…..!!! Betul betul menduga kesabaran! Then I couldn’t close the tank as the opening was filled with petrol. Called the attendant to help me and they had to literally ‘shake’ my car so hard to settle in the petrol in the tank….well, at least that was their justification when I asked. Then I splashed my car with water (and some on my sandal) and hurriedly sped off to work.

Of all the days, it seemed that all vehicles were makan angin on the highway....on that very particular day. As a result, the NKVE was terribly congested, from Bukit Lanjan right until Jalan Duta Toll Plaza.….. aiiyohh! Was my patience being tested when I had the least of it? That’s what I thought also lah…

The traffic was practically slow, barely moving and my car was crawling inch by inch…. until I reached my office building. I parked, turned off the engine, clutched my handbag and searched the car for my shoes. No where to be found! I was pretty sure that I must have left it under my table last week before the long holiday, so hurriedly I dashed to my office….

I thought the last episode of my worst nightmare was over…….. but noooooo!!!!!!! My shoes were not under my table! Huuwwwaaaa!!!! Felt like screaming and crying …. I called home and was told by my mom that I left them inside the storeroom at home. Laahhhh!!!!!! So that day I was dressed in a 2-pc-suit (no ironing needed, remember?) and wearing an open toes-no heels-sandal!!!????? When I walked around the office, the sandal made weird sounds....klepek, klepek, klepek...... Doube horror!!!!! Decided not to join any meetings that day!!!!

Felt like Bridget Jones all day long!!!!

A Walk to Remember!?

Finally, I’m writing…. The trip to Singapore was fun…. And also, full of crazy moments.. heheh… Clockwise : The Q @ immigration, street performers @ Orchard, moi infront of Far East Plaza, Nik chilling out @ Starbucks Suntec CT & my precious new sandal... I like!! We left KL after Subuh & managed to reach Johor around 10am. The trip was a short one so we decided to leave the kids behind. It was a smooth ride on a cool & very breezy morning with just enough sun all the way (yes, made me sleepy also!). I took some cool pictures along the way and later discovered that I accidently deleted all of the scenery pics from my camera.... *sigh* Sometimes I can be more than the word 'clumsy' could describe... Anyway, we wanted to enter Singapore via TUAS, then I remembered that we didn’t even have a single cent of S$, so we drove down to JB town and looked for money changer. Then I thought…. no harm of taking the Causeway since it was a Sunday and I was so damn sure that traf...

Antara Anyir & Jakarta

I’ve been making regular monthly trips to KLIA since my husband was posted to Jakarta last year. And yesterday….. again, I made my ‘latest trip’ there to send him off (after the recent trip that I had on 3/3/06 when I picked him up from KLIA to spend his 10 solid-days holiday with me and the kids here in KL). Time sure flew fast when you wished for the earth to stop and let you enjoy your 10 days just a little bit longer. Nevertheless, the ‘most awaited 10-days’ was over…..Nik is now back in Jakarta and I’m now back in my office, sitting in my chair, swiveling around every 10 minutes, gazing lazily at the workload dumped on my desk and trying very hard to find every energy stored in my body just to touch those piles of paper…. argh! But the 10-days period was spent joyfully. We took the weekend off last week for a quickie getaway at Cyberview Lodge Resort & Spa…. and oh boy! the resort is spectacular and the view is breathtakingly-beautiful. Of course, the children were the happies...
